Dr. Karen Lin is a dedicated optometrist specializing in comprehensive eye care, including the management of dry eye, pre- and post-operative care for cataract and refractive surgeries, and the diagnosis and treatment of ocular diseases such as glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration (AMD), and diabetic retinopathy. She has advanced training in the evaluation and fitting of multifocal and scleral contact lenses, enabling her to provide customized vision solutions for patients with complex needs.
Joining the Gulfcoast Eye Care team in August 2024, Dr. Lin sees patients in our St. Petersburg office. She is committed to delivering personalized, compassionate care that improves her patients’ vision and overall quality of life. Her approach centers on understanding each patient’s unique needs and providing eye health solutions that are both comfortable and convenient.
Dr. Lin earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Biology from the University of Connecticut, where she made the Dean’s List for her outstanding academic performance. She then obtained her Doctorate of Optometry from Salus University, Pennsylvania College of Optometry. During her optometric education, she was recognized by Conforma for her exceptional academic and clinical performance in contact lens design and management.
Following her graduation, Dr. Lin completed a medical optometric residency with a focus on ocular disease management and advanced contact lens fitting. This residency provided her with extensive experience in diagnosing and managing conditions like glaucoma, AMD, and diabetic retinopathy, as well as in providing comprehensive care for patients undergoing cataract and refractive surgeries.
Beyond her clinical responsibilities, Dr. Lin is passionate about giving back to the community. She has volunteered her services to underprivileged populations in need of eye exams and participated in providing eye care for Special Olympics athletes in 2021. Her dedication to community service reflects her commitment to making quality eye care accessible to all.
